In a vandalism case involving the May 9 riots, an anti-terrorism court in Sargodha on Tuesday sentenced MNA Muhammad Ahmed Chattha, Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Ahmed Khan Bachar, and several other PTI members to ten years in prison each.
Bachar was absent from the courtroom when the verdict was announced.
On May 9, 2023, PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan was arrested in a corruption case, which led to protests and vandalism. The complaint was filed in Mianwali over these incidents.
