KARACHI: A 30-page report handed to Sindh Inspector-General Ghulam Nabi Memon on Friday said that journalist Khawar Hussain’s death was a “suicide” by investigators from a three-member probe committee.
In his birthplace of Sanghar, Hussain, a young journalist who works for a private news station, was discovered dead in his car under suspicious circumstances last week outside a restaurant on Hyderabad Road.
The team of investigators determined “suicide as the only cause of death of journalist Hussain” after conducting a “detailed visit of the crime scene, interview of the witnesses, examination of post-mortem reports, forensic reports, and analysis of CCTV footage” .
An eight-page section of the report is backed up by medical records.
Additionally, CCTV footage from Karachi to Sanghar was examined by investigators.
