Donnie Wahlberg, a famous actor, has played a key role in the American drama series “Blue Bloods.” While the series’ final season will debut on February 16, 2024, Wahlberg finds it tough to leave the long-running project.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, the actor stated that he has grown so close to his on-screen father that he still refers to him as ‘Dad’ when the cameras aren’t running.
He replied, “I call him Dad. For the first season or two, he’d be like, ‘Oh, hey, Donnie.'”
The NKOTBSB member stated that he has gotten so close over time even Tom Selleck has joined in, adding, “He’s literally like, ‘Oh, hey, son, how are you doing today?'” It’s as if we’ve just formed a true family.”
However, Wahlberg is unable to accept the loss of his on-screen family, stating, “It’s going to be a lot to not be with them anymore” and expressing hope that they would remain connected.
During the interview, Wahlberg showed his appreciation for his cast and crew after 14 years of collaboration, exclaiming, “They’re just great to work with. The cast is great. “They are like a real family.”
“We’ve been through so much together that the thought of not coming to work with the people I’ve worked with for so long, it’s going to hit me in the heart at some point soon” , he said.
Blue Bloods is a crime drama series that aired its debut season in September 2010.
The plot revolves around the Reagans, as Frank Reagen (Tom Selleck) becomes the new commissioner of the department and must juggle his duties as the head of the police force and the boss of his three children: Daniel (Donny Wahlberg), Erin (Bridget Moynahan), and Jameson (Will Estes).
