The window screen of a tiny car that was parked outside Christ The Good Shepherd Church was broken, serving as a reminder of the horrible incident that took place in the area of western Sydney on Monday night and the subsequent mob violence.
That evening, at approximately 19:00, a 16-year-old teenager stormed out of the Orthodox Assyrian Christian church and began a furious attack on the bishop who was giving the sermon.
The entire event was captured on live video, which was broadcast online to the nearby congregation and other people. Assyrian, Maronite, Catholic, and Coptic Christian groups were swiftly informed of the news.
Following that, hundreds of supporters flocked to the church, where they engaged in combat with the teenager’s arresting officers, who had already arrived on the scene. The mob’s demands that the teenager be turned over wounded the officers tending to the casualties.
