The cabinet agreed to the cultural minister’s plan to dissolve the existing Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS).
A new organization called Slovak Television and Radio (STVR) will take its place.
The current director general, who took office in 2022, will no longer hold that position.
His successor will be chosen by a council, whose members are chosen by ministries and the parliament, which is controlled by Fico.
