The 18 Trump supporters were accused of unlawfully attempting to get Arizona’s 2020 electoral votes for the then-US president, according to the indictment, which was reached on Tuesday and made public on Wednesday.
The attempt by Trump and his supporters to exert pressure on election authorities in multiple states to void Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election is what led to the indictment.
For this, the 77-year-old Trump is charged in both federal and Georgian courts.
The unindicted co-conspirator named in the court documents is “a former US president,” which is a reference to Trump.
