Reportedly, the president of a significant Iranian institution extended scholarships to pupils dismissed from American and European universities due to anti-Israel demonstrations that bordered on antisemitism.
Shiraz University’s president, Mohammad Moazzeni, made the statement on Wednesday at a student rally in the Fars region intended to demonstrate “solidarity” with anti-Israel activists in the West.
He said of the police response to the protests in encampments, “[T]hey exert a lot of violence in order to contain this raging movement and have even threatened to expel the students from universities and hinder their employment in the future, and such autocratic methods show the decline of global arrogance,” Press TV, the state-owned outlet of Iran.
