Two hours before the scheduled lift-off on Monday night (US EST), the two NASA test pilots had just buckled up in Boeing’s Starliner capsule at Cape Canaveral Space Station for a trip to the International Space Station.
It was the most recent setback to Boeing’s first crew mission, which had been put on hold for years due to capsule issues.
Boeing and Lockheed Martin are members of the United Launch Alliance, which produces the Atlas V rocket.
According to Tory Bruno, CEO of United Launch Alliance, an oxygen pressure-relief valve on the rocket’s upper stage may have been the reason for the most recent delay.
