Sher Afzal Marwat, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), suffered yet another setback on Saturday when the party sent him a show-cause notice for breaking its policies and code of conduct.
Despite having received explicit orders from PTI founder Imran Khan, Marwat was accused of making “irresponsible statements” that damaged the party’s reputation and interests, according to the notification released by the central secretariat of the party.
It went on to say that the politician’s comments and deeds had strained ties with stakeholders and other party members.
Marwat has been called by the party’s central secretariat to provide a written justification for why disciplinary action shouldn’t be taken against him within three days of receiving the show-cause notice.
“More actions will be done as soon as your response is inadequate or if you do not react.
Due to his direct and outspoken views, Marwat has remained in the public eye and has clashed with a number of party officials, including Taimur Khan Jhagra, Omar Ayub, and Shibli Faraz.
Ayub claimed on May 9 that Marwat was kicked out of the PTI’s core and political committees due to orders from Khan. He claimed that the politician received repeated warnings not to go against the party’s policies.
