On Wednesday, the US reaffirmed its support for Pakistan in its battle against terrorism and border disputes as the country works to lessen the evil of terrorism.
“We reaffirmed with Pakistan today our joint intent to strengthen our ability to confront new challenges, particularly to enhance communication regarding terrorism,” Principal Deputy Spokesperson for the US State Department Vedant Patel stated during a news conference in Washington.
The spokesperson said that both nations have agreed to prevent and deter terrorist groups with collaboration in various areas including counter-IED investigations, technical assistance at the country’s western border, etc. in response to a question about the recent security talks held between Islamabad and Washington.
His comments coincide with Pakistan’s recent experience with a surge in terrorist attacks.
