Astronomers have made a significant scientific discovery by locating a new planet outside of our solar system that resembles cotton candy, according to Space.
“WASP-193 b” is the name of an exoplanet that is around 1.5 times wider than Jupiter but only has a small portion of its density.
The gas giant is the second-lightest planet found in the exoplanet category, according to scientific findings. Kepler 51 d is the lightest world in a Neptune-like universe.
The new planet stands out from the other 5,400 planets that have been found so far due to its significantly greater size and super-light density.
Astronomers from several colleges, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the University of Liege in Belgium, produced the finding, which was published in the publicationl Nature Astronomy.
