David DePape, 44, was convicted in November of attempting to kidnap a government official and assaulting a federal official’s direct family member.
DePape was handed 20 years for one offense and 30 years for another, which would run concurrently. He was also awarded credit for the 18 months he had spent in detention.
DePape admitted during trial testimony that he stormed into the Pelosis’ San Francisco house on October 28, 2022, with the intention of holding Ms. Pelosi hostage and “breaking her kneecaps” if she lied to him.
He further acknowledged to bludgeoning Paul Pelosi with a hammer when police arrived, saying.
