Matus Sutaj Estok reports that a group is investigating the possibility that Wednesday’s incident was not caused by a lone wolf as was previously believed.
Mr. Fico’s life is no longer in danger after hours of surgery, but the 59-year-old still needs special care, his deputy said earlier.
On Saturday, the guy charged with attempted murder was detained pending his trial.
The alleged assailant has not been named officially, but Slovak newspapers have generally recognized him as Juraj Cintula, 71, of Levice.
Local media describes him as a poet who has been involved in political organizations.
