The US Justice Department (DOJ) plans to bring a competition case against entertainment behemoth Live Nation as early as Thursday, according to various sources familiar with the matter.
According to insiders, prosecutors will question the Ticketmaster parent company’s business practices.
When the DOJ sues over competition issues, it frequently seeks to compel a company to split off pieces of its business or change its operating procedures.
When approached by the news, the Department of Justice declined to comment. The news has also requested a response from Live Nation.
The Washington Post, which broke the story first, reports that several state attorneys general will support the federal government in its legal battle.
