Former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley has announced that she will vote for Donald Trump, her former opponent and boss, in the 2024 US presidential election.
Ms. Haley, a former United Nations ambassador, was the last of Mr. Trump’s key challengers to withdraw from the Republican primary fight in early March.
She did not endorse him at the time, but urged him to earn the votes of the millions of people who had supported her.
In her first public words since abandoning the race, she stated on Wednesday that while Mr Trump “has not been perfect,” President Joe Biden “has been a catastrophe.”
Anti-Trump Republican voters primarily gathered around Ms. Haley’s presidential ambition earlier this year, and her dormant candidacy is still building traction.
