Speaking at a Judicial Academy ceremony on Friday, he stated that if the government does not treat the judiciary with respect, then it is not deserving of respect itself. He went on, “We won’t turn into the government’s or any other institution’s B team.”
He requested that the lawyers come together because the bar-bench dispute is weakening the judiciary.
The LHC CJ provided information indicating that there are approximately 1.4 million cases pending at the district level in Punjab. With the recent appointments included, there are 1,760 judges in the provincial judiciary at the moment. There are still just 800 officials in the judiciary, he continued.
