Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Kashif Zulfiqar has forbidden police officers in the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) from filming and sharing videos on TikTok.
Police officers are not permitted to post recordings on social media, even if they are connected to an arrest, according to a directive released by the SSP operations on Thursday.
The directive stated, “TikTok videos affect the performance of the police [officials].”

It also issued a warning, saying that anyone found to be disobeying the guidelines would face harsh consequences.
According to sources, the restriction was put in place after members of the opposition and treasury benches criticized the police officers for the TikTok videos.
Such a restriction has previously been placed on police officers in the KP and other provinces.
The KP police forbade officers from using cellphones while on duty in September 2022 in order to keep them vigilant and prepared to act quickly in the event of an emergency.
The KP police force has previously protested a number of concerns, including a lack of facilities, on various social media platforms.
