Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi gave the order on Sunday to speed up the process so that Pakistanis living abroad can receive their passports on time, after noticing a delay in the document’s issue.
The interior minister gave instructions to officers to give urgent passports to Pakistanis living abroad within seven days and regular passports within thirty days while he was visiting Nadra and passport centers in London.
He stated that “all Pakistani missions abroad will be subject to this policy,” given that regular passports were being issued in roughly four months and urgent passports in one and a half.
According to Naqvi, there would be no more delays and that failure to issue a passport within the allotted time will result in consequences.
In order “to ensure delivery of passports within the time,” he also established a surveillance unit and named his Personal Staff Officer, ASP Shahrbano, as its commander.
If they do not obtain their passport on time, Pakistanis living abroad can file a complaint by email at passport@interior.gov.pk, according to Radio Pakistan.
The interior minister also spoke with Pakistanis who were in the centers during the visit.
He was grateful that no one had any complaints regarding the Nadra staff’s performance. He gave them praise for their excellent performance.
