Washington: Masood Khan, Pakistan’s ambassador to the US, asked the Biden administration to adopt a balanced stance, pointing out a strategic imbalance in South Asia and Washington’s leaning towards New Delhi.
Speaking to a group of academics, decision-makers, lawmakers, and professionals at the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, Washington, on Thursday, he stated, “US heavy tilt towards India is accentuating strategic imbalance which is fraught with serious risks.”
The envoy also emphasized the need for support in the ongoing fight against terrorist threats in the area, as well as the complete restoration of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Foreign Military Financing (FMF).
Khan provided a thorough analysis of the war on terror, Pakistan-US relations, Pakistan-India interactions, post-withdrawal relationship recalibration, and challenges of regional stability.
Ambassador Khan extended an invitation to American businesses to establish in Pakistan, where they could reach 240 million customers, while also stressing the country’s current trade and investment prospects.
“A significant market for American manufacturing is Pakistan. There are 240 million consumers in Pakistan for manufacturers of cutting-edge goods, he remarked.
