FAISALABAD: Rescue officials told Geo News that a laptop battery explosion on Wednesday caused a house in the Shareef Pura neighborhood of Faisalabad to catch fire, resulting in at least two fatalities and seven burn injuries.
Rescue personnel claim that the residence on Satyana Road caught fire while the detonated laptop battery was charging. They stated that the fire was extinguished later.
Following the unfortunate event, the family’s nine members—five children and two women—were taken to the Allied Hospital, according to the rescue officials.
According to the physicians, every victim has serious injuries, with between 50% and 60% of their bodies burned.
Following the regrettable tragedy, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz sent her condolences and sympathies to the grieving family, expressing grief over the children’s deaths.
According to a statement from the provincial government, CM Maryam has mandated that those hurt in the fire receive the best care possible.
The senior superintendent of police has been instructed by regional police officer Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan to launch an investigation into the event.
