SANGHAR: Six suspects, who are reportedly connected to the crime of slicing off a camel’s leg, were placed on physical remand by a Sanghar court on Thursday for a period of two days.
when hearing the case and seeing the suspects brought before it when their prior remand was over, the court rendered its decision.
Two of the suspects had acknowledged to the crime, the investigating officer said the court. According to the IO, two axes were also found on the accused.
Shortly after their arrest, on June 16, a Shahdadpur magistrate placed the accused under police detention for a period of four days.
On June 15, the victim camel was sent to Karachi, where it has been receiving care and treatment for its rehabilitation from a non-governmental organization.
The devastating catastrophe happened in the Mundh Jamrao area on June 14. After the camel wandered into an agricultural area, its owner became enraged and started abusing the animal physically.
The camel was first subjected to physical abuse by the landlord and his workers as retaliation for it accessing the property to find food. They later used a sharp object to cut the animal’s leg.
Thousands of people denounced the cruel conduct after the camel’s footage went viral on social media.
