A Kenya High Court judge punished Kenyan police personnel for killing Pakistani journalist Arhsad Sharif in Kenya, ruling that the killing was illegal and unconstitutional.
Kajiado High Court in Kenya has granted the family of Pakistani Journalist Arshad Sharif, who was shot and killed by Kenyan police in October 2022, a sum of Rs21.7 million.
Justice Stella Mutuku declared during her ruling that it was illegal and unconstitutional to use deadly force against Sharif by shooting him in the head.
She blasted the Attorney General, the DPP, and other investigative bodies for their slowness in wrapping up the investigation and bringing charges against the police personnel responsible for Arshad’s demise.
