On Thursday, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb disclosed that the government is under a great deal of pressure from all quarters to execute the recently announced taxes.
Aurangzeb said, “Everyone wants not to be taxed,” at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Finance of the National Assembly, which was presided over by Syed Naveed Qamar.
Aurangzeb gave a summary of the state of the economy at the briefing, pointing out that the previous fiscal year had encouraging economic signs. “Foreign exchange reserves exceeded $9 billion, and there was a gradual decline in the inflation rate,” he said.
Nonetheless, the Finance Minister admitted that currency instability had resulted from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program’s 2023 postponement. In spite of this, he stated that foreign corporations are once again receiving their profits and dividends.
