ISLAMABAD: In a dramatic ceremony marking the transfer of leadership, the Pakistan Navy has taken over command of Combined Task Force 150 (CTF-150) for the thirteenth time, at the US Naval Forces Central leadership Headquarters in Bahrain.
Capt. Mathews of the Royal Canadian Navy was replaced as commander by Commodore Asim Sohail Malik of the Pakistan Navy, the Pakistan Navy announced on Tuesday.
One of the five task forces under the jurisdiction of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) is the international coalition of navies, or CTF 150. Its objective is to oppose criminal activities at sea by promoting maritime security.
“Commodore Malik, the incoming Commander of CTF-150, addressed the gathering and gave the assurance that his team is prepared to effectively carry out this esteemed duty in support of maritime security.
