KARACHI: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moderate to heavy rains are expected to batter Karachi between August 3 and August 5.
Additionally, the Met Office noted that Thursday and Friday (tomorrow) could bring mild to moderate rain and drizzle to the port city.
Furthermore, the weather office predicts that tomorrow’s temperature in the port city will probably stay between 31°C and 33°C.
Notably, on Wednesday night, Karachi had intense downpours that flooded some low-lying sections of the port city, with more severe downpours predicted.
It rained intermittently last night in several districts of the port city, including Saddar, II Chundrigar Road, Baldia Town, Defence, and North Karachi.Additionally, strong monsoon winds expected to influence the region starting on August 2 from Rajasthan and the Arabian Sea have led the Met Office to predict rain showers with lightning in several parts of Sindh.
It’s also probable that the severe rains would cause Sindh’s low-lying districts to flood. In addition, the Met Office reports that Kirthar, along with rivers and nullahs found in Balochistani mountain regions, could overflow during periods of high precipitation.
