Aheefa Jabbar Khattak has expressed her strong disapproval of Pakistani television serials as they currently stand, pointing out a stark disparity in the representation of strong, independent women.
The model-turned-actor was well-known for her candid opinions on how women are portrayed in the media. She pushed for a change to more realistic and motivational representations. She claimed in an interview with Fuschia Magazine that Pakistani shows have veered too far from reality and have not done a good job of portraying the struggles and triumphs of strong, independent women.
“I feel like I’ve talked about this so much and so publicly that I might no longer get any offers. “Our dramas have so much more potential,” she said.
