New visa note criteria for the Senate and National Assembly Secretariat have been established by the Foreign Office in response to the growing trend of Pakistanis seeking political refuge overseas.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar immediately approved these revisions, which tighten up the regulations around the issuing of visas. The regulations went into force right away.
The decision has been communicated to the National Assembly and Senate by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs. The new regulation forbids the issuance of letters of recommendation for visa applications submitted by family members of National Assembly and Senate Secretariat employees. It is anticipated that this action will reduce the improper use of these materials in asylum requests.Furthermore, more stringent guidelines are now in place for members of parliament (MPs) and their families who possess private passports. They will now have to submit an affidavit in order to receive letters of introduction, which will increase process accountability.
