Adolfo Macias, the most wanted criminal in Ecuador, escaped from jail on Sunday, resulting in the declaration of a state of emergency and the deployment of more than 3000 people to conduct a search and rescue effort.
Following their declaration of war on the nation, criminal gangs issued orders to “neutralize” Ecuador on Tuesday, according to President Daniel Noboa.
The National Prisons Agency (SNAI) reported that 125 guards and 14 officers had been kidnapped in five separate cities as a form of retaliation from the gangs.
According to the Daily Sun, numerous individuals have been hurt in explosions around the city, and at least ten people have died in various sections of the nation.
Armed with weapons and explosives, gangs broke into the TC television facility in Guayaquil on Tuesday.
Furthermore, Fabricio Colon Pico, the leader of Los Lobos gang and a notorious drug dealer, has managed to evade capture since his detention on Friday. He was suspected of being involved in a plot to kill Ecuador’s attorney general.
Unverified films that have been making the rounds on social media seem to show kidnappers reciting a statement to President Noboa while blindfolded and holding weapons on their heads: “You declared war, you will get war, you declared a state of emergency.” We proclaim soldiers, cops, and civilians to be the war’s loot.
In retaliation, Noboa vowed “not to rest nor negotiate with terrorists until we return peace to all Ecuadorans.”
