While the prime minister and Hamas were trading accusations for the delays in reaching a truce agreement, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and other Israeli authorities on Monday in an attempt to unclog the process for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Following his eighth journey to the Middle East since Hamas attacked Israel in October, the senior US diplomat arrived in Tel Aviv on Sunday. He was scheduled to speak with President Isaac Herzog, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Netanyahu.
On Tuesday, Blinken will proceed to Cairo, where next cease-fire negotiations are scheduled to take place.
