Azam Swati, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), declared on Monday that whoever arranged his meeting with the party’s imprisoned founder, Imran Khan, had made a “positive move” for the nation.
Swati, referring to his meeting with the former prime minister at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi earlier this week, before the former ruling party rescheduled his Islamabad power show from August 22 to September 8, said, “It was a positive move to protect the system of Pakistan,” outside the Supreme Court.
After delaying its Islamabad protest, he continued, his party was not anticipating any type of accommodation [from the government]. The PTI, Swati continued, merely desired the nation to abide by the law and the Constitution.
