The 77-year-old musician stated that while he is recovering, “it’s an extremely slow process” and that it will take some time for the damaged eye’s vision to return.
“Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye,” the singer of Your Song wrote in a post to his 4.9 million Instagram followers.
“I am mending, but it is a very gradual process, and it will take some time for the affected eye to see normally again.
I am incredibly appreciative of my family, the wonderful medical staff, and the nurses who have been taking such fantastic care of me these past few weeks.
I have been resting comfortably at home over the summer, and I am pleased with the progress I have made thus far in my healing and rehabilitation.
