The government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have both intensified their ties with Jamaat-e-Islami in anticipation of Dr. Arif Alvi’s meeting with the Jamaat leadership in Mansoora today.
Within the following 48 hours, JI leaders are reportedly to meet with a government delegation as well.
As part of its continuous efforts to solidify alliances against the government, the PTI has reestablished communication with the JI leadership. PTI senior leader Alvi’s visit demonstrates the party’s intention to work with Jamaat-e-Islami to oppose the policies of the government. It is anticipated that the main topics of discussion and possible course of action will center on how to solve common challenges in a cooperative manner.
