The PTI founder’s and his wife Bushra Bibi’s bail requests in the Toshakhana 2 case are to be decided expeditiously, according to a written decision given by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The National Judicial Policy, which specifies deadlines for determining bail applications—three days for a magistrate, five days for a sessions court, and seven days for a high court—is highlighted in Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb’s three-page ruling.
The court made it clear that these deadlines also apply to special courts, including Special Judge Central, where bail requests are still being considered following the case’s transfer to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The petitioners’ attorneys had already asked for a prompt outcome, pointing out needless hold-ups in the bail determination.
