ISLAMABAD Following the approval of a $7 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, announced that the government was taking moves to join the world’s expanding economies in addition to focusing on economic rehabilitation.
At a news conference on Wednesday in New York, Tarar stated that Pakistan’s efforts to revive its economy were being recognized by the international community.
The government’s wise policies are paying off, as seen by the drop in inflation and the stability of daily commodity prices. The minister stated, “Reforms are being implemented to boost economic growth and provide relief to people.”
After the Washington-based lender finalized the agreement with Islamabad, endorsing Pakistan’s economic reforms, Tarar made statements noting additional steps the government had taken to improve the nation’s economy.
