The media reports that said legislative leaders met to receive a briefing on security-related issues were refuted by the National Assembly secretary on Tuesday.
The announcement followed news that parliamentary leaders will be briefed on national security issues by intelligence officials and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Syed Asim Munir at a crucial meeting at Parliament House on October 2 (tomorrow).
The sources further stated that Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq had called the pivotal meeting of the legislative leaders of the National Assembly and Senate on Wednesday.
The NA spokesperson was cited as saying, “A briefing on the security situation of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be given during the meeting.”
