In response to criticism after a widely shared video of him exiting the stage at an Islamabad event went viral, Dr. Zakir Naik has released a statement. Dr. Naik was the main guest at the event, which was hosted by the nonprofit organization “Pakistan Sweet Home” with the goal of honoring orphaned children.
The Sweet Home chairman, Zamarud Khan, asked Dr. Naik to give the orphaned girls shields as the program came to an end. But Dr. Naik moved away from the stage when the females got closer.
Dr. Naik had earlier disclosed that he had been asked to meet orphans at a public event held at Sindh’s Governor House.
He agreed to come even though he didn’t have much time—roughly ten minutes. When he arrived, he saw that the event was mostly photo-focused.
