A high-level security meeting was presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who reiterated the government’s commitment to making sure the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit goes well.
Reviewing the security setup and general state of affairs in the federal capital was the main objective of the meeting, which was attended by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Islamabad, and the Chief Commissioner.
According to sources, the prime minister instructed authorities to put in place impenetrable security measures in advance of the highly anticipated international summit, and the participants were briefed on the present state of security in Islamabad. Shehbaz Sharif also stressed the need to step up efforts to make the city more beautiful, giving the chief commissioner instructions to move on with ongoing projects more quickly.
