In an effort to improve safety and guarantee equitable service, the Islamabad Transport Authority has implemented new regulations for public transportation vehicles operating in the Federal Capital.
A representative from the ICT administration stated that these steps prioritize vulnerable travelers, stress passenger safety, and deal with overcharging and infractions.
One of the main criteria is that all public transportation vehicles have their route permits and fitness certificates prominently displayed on the front glass. Additionally, rental cars must clearly display the fact that they are rental cars on both the front and rear windows.
Seniors and women should be given preference when it comes to front-row seats in public transportation vehicles. In addition, vehicles are required to follow the designated routes as stated in their permits; if they do not, legal action against Adda Munshi, the transport coordinator, is currently underway.
