In a major move for air travel in Pakistan, the director general of the Civil Aviation Authority has announced that a private airline will start operating to numerous smaller cities starting next year.
The new aviation services, which would include flights to towns like Sukkur, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Gwadar, will start in the second quarter of 2025.
For the first time, DG Nader Shafi exclusively revealed to TV that this development will make it easier for residents of these areas to commute by air between principal and secondary airports.
He added that the airline would have at least three small aircraft, each with room for 40 to 50 people, in service.
