The federal government and the Ministry of Law were named respondents in the petition filed by Bushra Gohar through Advocate Ali Gohar Durrani.
According to the application, reservations voiced by the public must be erased by consensus and any constitutional amendments must be made public.
In her plea, Bushra Gohar said that the eight hundred ideas for the change came from the public opinion poll that was conducted during the period a committee was established to pass the 18th change.
The applicant begged for the proposed constitutional amendment’s draft to be made available to the public in their application.
It is important to remember that the PML-N government is willing to change the constitution with the support of the PPP; however, the government needs to pass the amendment with a two-thirds majority in both chambers of Parliament.
