In response to a motion submitted by the Federation of Pakistan and the Punjab government requesting revisions to the original verdict rendered on July 24, 2024, the Supreme Court on Thursday published an amended judgment in the Mubarak Sani case.
Following religious academics’ objections to particular paragraphs in the previous verdict, the ruling was changed.
The application, which raised issues with paragraphs 7, 42, and 49 (c) of the July ruling, was accepted by the court. Prominent academics, such as Mufti Muneebur Rahman and Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, expressed their displeasure with the disputed paragraphs’ religious implications through their arguments during the proceedings.
