ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Following Iran’s invasion of the country’s sovereignty and its strike in Balochistan, which resulted in the deaths of two children and the injuries of three girls, Pakistan has struck terrorist hideouts within the Iranian border.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on Thursday stating, “This morning Pakistan undertook a series of highly coordinated and specifically targeted precision military strikes against terrorist hideouts in Siestan-o-Baluchistan province of Iran.”
According to the statement, the intelligence-based operation known as “Marg Bar Sarmachar” resulted in the deaths of several terrorists.
Pakistan condemned the attack close to their shared border.
FO Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated in a statement on Wednesday that “last night’s unprovoked and blatant breach of Pakistan’s sovereignty by Iran is a violation of international law and the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter.”
The FO said in a statement today that over the past few years, in our interactions with Iran, Pakistan has continuously expressed its grave concerns regarding the safe havens and sanctuaries that terrorists of Pakistani descent who go by the name “Sarmachars” enjoy on Iran’s ungoverned territories.
It further stated that Pakistan had provided numerous dossiers containing verifiable proof of the existence and actions of these terrorists.
However, these so-called Sarmachars persisted because nothing was done about our grave worries.
The statement said, “Action taken this morning was taken in light of credible intelligence of impending large-scale terrorist activities by these so-called Sarmachars.”
According to Islamabad, Pakistan’s unwavering determination to safeguard and defend its national security against all threats is demonstrated by this step.
The fact that this extremely complicated operation was carried out successfully also attests to the professionalism of the Pakistani military. Pakistan will keep doing everything in its power to protect the precious, untouchable, and sacrosanct safety and security of its people.
Pakistan completely respects Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, according to the communiqué, and the act’s only goal was to further Pakistan’s security and national interest, which are of utmost importance and cannot be compromised.
“Pakistan embraces the goals and ideals of the UN Charter, including member states’ sovereignty and territorial integrity, as a responsible member of the international community. Pakistan would never permit the challenge of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, under any circumstances or pretext, as long as we are guided by these principles and exercising our legal rights under international law.
The FO referred to Iran as a brotherly nation and stated that Pakistanis have a great deal of regard and fondness for Iranians.
“We shall continue to look for cooperative solutions. We have always placed a strong emphasis on communication and teamwork in addressing shared challenges, such as the threat of terrorism.”
In light of the growing tensions between Pakistan and Iran, FO Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch later announced that interim Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar will shorten his stay at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
