The creation of a Constitutional Court under Article 175-A is one of the draft amendments to the constitution that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has released.
The JUI-F is anticipated to submit its proposal the following day. This comes after the government and PPP presented theirs in a parliamentary committee meeting presided over by Khurshid Shah. There was a standstill in the meeting that Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Barrister Gohar, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari attended because they were unable to come to an agreement.
A Constitutional Commission of Pakistan (CCP) would be established, according to the PPP’s draft, to supervise the selection of judges for the Supreme Court and High Court.
The CCP would be made up of the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, two senior justices, and a nominee or retired judge from the Supreme Court as a representative from the court.
