For the first time in almost a decade, the Indian Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, has made his first visit to Pakistan for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference.
The SCO’s Council of Heads of Government (CHG) is holding its 23rd summit in Islamabad, and strict security measures are in place to make sure everything runs properly.
TV footage showed Indian FM receiving a bouquet of flowers from youngsters as his jet touched down at an airbase close to Islamabad, the country’s capital, just before 3:30 p.m., according to a foreign office official.
Jaishankar was one of about a dozen leaders attending the conference in Islamabad, which was coming to an end on Wednesday with the main event.
