LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Protests, processions, and assemblies in advance of opposition party rallies are forbidden by Section 144, which has been enforced throughout Punjab and Islamabad.
The capital administration has issued a warning, threatening severe consequences for any infractions. Under no circumstances can Section 144 be violated, according to a district administration representative.
It should be noted that Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) is demonstrating against a significant increase in electricity costs, and on Friday, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and other religious organizations declared nationwide demonstrations against the ruling made by the Supreme Court in the Mubarak Sani case.
However, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership has also said that they will hold protests on Friday in order to demand Imran Khan, the party’s founder, be freed.
