ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Vawda criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for its “double standards” after the 26th Amendment Bill, 2024, was passed by the upper chamber of parliament. He said that the PTI backed the amendment’s provisions but not the bill itself.
“They ought to have voted against the amendment measure as the opposition […] Speaking to reporters outside Parliament House, Vawda stated, “It was all executed with PTI’s understanding [and] planning.”
Speaking out against Imran Khan’s current situation, he further criticized the PTI leadership, saying, “Had Imran Khan listened to me back then, he would be in a much better position today, rather than being in jail.”
“History also includes the verbal abuse they suffered at the hands of Khan,” he said.
