According to reports, a special mission headed by Sardar Awais Khan Leghari, Minister for Power, has been despatched to Saudi Arabia by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. According to Business Recorder, their goal is to settle outstanding disputes about K-Electric and turn the recently signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) totaling $2.8 billion into legally binding agreements.
Prime Minister Sharif met with Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and Saudi Investment Minister Khalid al-Falih last week to talk about investment-related issues. After these discussions, the Saudi Investment Minister told the media that there are now 34 Memorandums of Understanding, up from 27. This means that the estimated investment has gone from $2.2 billion to $2.8 billion.
