Criminals infiltrating the private security industry has sparked grave concerns from Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho, who has warned that the problem has reached a national “concern” level.
Odho asked for tougher legislation to combat this worrying trend while speaking at the opening of an advanced monitoring project that included eight new security cameras surrounding the Chinese Consulate.
Odho emphasized the significance of responsibility and said the Home Department is drafting new legislation to strengthen rules for private security firms.
Owners of security firms risk criminal prosecution if they do not properly screen guards, he added.
Odho claims that the Special Branch and Intelligence Bureau are among the intelligence organizations already looking into these breaches.
