ISLAMABAD According to officials in the interior ministry who spoke to News on Saturday, the government is likely to stop mobile services nationwide starting tonight in response to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) decision to proceed with its “do-or-die” demonstration on November 24.
According to the sources, police vans have been delivered to Islamabad, and the necessary arrangements for the demonstrators’ arrest and subsequent detention have been finalized, following Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s strict orders to authorities to keep them out of the city.
The development coincides with the present government’s implementation of stringent security measures to quell the protest by the former ruling party.
The party formed by Imran Khan has marched into the federal capital several times in recent months.
