WASHINGTON: The United States has urged both parties to exercise caution amid skirmishes between PTI members and law enforcement agency (LEA) officials as the former continues to advance towards Islamabad. On Tuesday, the News reported.
According to US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller, “We call on Pakistani authorities to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms and to ensure respect for Pakistan’s laws and constitution as they work to maintain law and order,” Miller said at a news briefing on Tuesday.
According to Washington, the demonstrators should “demonstrate peacefully and refrain from violence.”
Washington’s comments are in opposition to the martyrdom of two police officers, one of them was constable Muhammad Mubashir Bilal, who was allegedly attacked by demonstrators.
